Computing
The teaching and learning of computing at Little Digmoor links directly to our whole school curriculum intent.
We believe that computing is a unique, vital yet complex subject that allows children to express themselves in ways not seen in other areas of the curriculum. As the role that technology plays in our society increases exponentially, we aim to provide our children with the necessary skills to navigate and succeed in such a pivotal facet of their future lives. It is likely that children today will be working heavily with technology in their careers and we aspire to prepare our children adequately for this.
Our computing curriculum provides a well-structured approach to the learning of computing. The emphasis is on a real-world, practical approach where learning is meaningful. Children are encouraged to be resilient and solve problems as they occur; resiliency being an area that many of our children find difficult. We have chosen the Twinkl - PlanIt scheme as this provides a range or real world units where there is a broad focus on: programming, coding, Microsoft Works, digital media, communication and online safety.
